Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Blify Mod Discord bot ("the Bot") and its companion website ("the Site") collect, how it is used, and your choices. By using the Service you consent to the practices described here.

This policy covers both the Bot and the Site. Jump to: Bot data · Site data.

1. Information we collect

From the Bot

  • Per-server configuration. Guild ID, enabled state, moderated channel IDs, log channel ID, custom rules (text you enter), immune role and user IDs, and strictness level.
  • Moderation logs. For each action taken: guild ID, target user ID, channel ID, action type, severity, rule broken, AI-generated reason, a truncated copy of the offending message (up to 500 characters), timestamp, reversal status, and the moderator who reversed it (if any).
  • Message content at evaluation time. When a message is scanned, its text and a short surrounding context window are sent to the AI provider for classification. Message content is not retained by the Bot after evaluation except as part of the truncated log described above.
  • Pro/Premium claims. Your Discord user ID and the guild IDs you have claimed.
  • Credits and voting activity. If you vote for the Bot on top.gg, we receive a webhook from top.gg containing your Discord user ID and the fact that you voted. We store your Discord user ID, your current credit balance, your daily-vote streak, the timestamp of your last counted vote, the UTC date of your last counted vote, your total vote count, and your opt-out preference.
  • Pro tier redemption records. When you redeem credits for 2 weeks of Pro tier, we store your Discord user ID, the redemption timestamp, and the expiry timestamp so the Pro role can be removed automatically when it lapses.
  • Blacklist entries. If a server or user is blacklisted from using the Bot, we store the offending guild or user ID along with the reason, the timestamp, and the ID of the operator who added the entry.
  • Server-join events. When the Bot is added to a new server, we record the server's name, ID, member count, and icon to an internal operator channel for operational monitoring and abuse prevention.
  • Per-server daily AI usage totals. A rolling per-day total of AI API cost (in USD) incurred for each server, used to enforce the per-tier daily moderation throughput cap. These records contain only the guild ID, the UTC date, and the running cost total — no message content. Auto-purged 30 days after creation.
  • Operational logs. The Bot's runtime logs may briefly contain short message snippets (up to roughly 80 characters), author tags, channel names, and guild names. These logs are used for debugging and are retained only as long as our hosting provider retains standard application logs.

From the Site

  • Discord OAuth data. When you log in, we request the identify and guilds scopes, which return your Discord user ID, username, avatar hash, and a list of servers you are a member of (with your permissions in each). This is stored only in your server-side session.
  • Session cookie. A signed cookie that identifies your session. It contains only an opaque session ID; the session data itself is stored server-side.
  • Basic request metadata. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, path) may be retained briefly for operational and security purposes.

2. How we use your information

  • To operate the moderation features you configure.
  • To send AI provider(s) the minimum message content and context required to make a moderation decision.
  • To show you moderation logs in-channel and via /modlogs.
  • To authenticate you on the Site and show you only servers you are authorized to manage.
  • To enforce paid-tier entitlements.
  • To run the credits and redemption system, including crediting votes received from top.gg, computing daily-vote streaks, and granting or removing the Pro role for redeemed users.
  • To investigate abuse, debug issues, and keep the Service running. Authorized members of our operations team may access stored server configuration (including custom rules) to investigate reports of abuse or rule configurations that may violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

3. Third parties we share data with

  • Discord. The Bot operates inside Discord; all messages it sees are received from Discord, and moderation actions are executed through the Discord API.
  • Anthropic (Claude). Messages being evaluated, surrounding context, the author's Discord username (truncated), and your custom rules are sent to Anthropic's API for the judgment step on Pro and Premium servers (using Claude Sonnet 4.6), and as an automatic fallback for screening and free-tier judgment if OpenAI is unavailable (using Claude Haiku 4.5). Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train their models — this is the default for all commercial API traffic, and we have not opted in to any training program. See Anthropic's own privacy policy for their data handling practices.
• OpenAI. On every tier, the message being screened, your custom rules, and a short instruction prompt are sent to OpenAI's API for an initial yes/no relevance check (using gpt-5-nano). On Free-tier servers, messages that pass the screen are then sent to OpenAI's API for the full moderation judgment (using gpt-5-mini), along with the surrounding channel context, the author's Discord username (truncated), and your custom rules. On Pro and Premium servers, the same data may also be sent to OpenAI's gpt-5-mini as an automatic fallback if Anthropic is unavailable. OpenAI does not use data submitted through their API to train their models by default, and we have explicitly disabled all data-sharing options on our organization account. See OpenAI's own privacy policy for their data handling practices.
  • MongoDB Atlas. Configuration, logs, Pro claims, and website sessions are stored in a managed MongoDB Atlas database.
  • Patreon. Paid tiers are billed by Patreon; we do not see or store your payment details. We only receive the fact that you hold a Pro or Premium role in the official support server.
  • top.gg. If you vote for the Bot on top.gg, top.gg sends us a webhook containing your Discord user ID and the type of vote event. We use this only to credit your account in the credits system. We do not send any of your personal data to top.gg; we only receive vote events from them. See top.gg's own privacy policy for their data handling practices.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data retention

  • Per-server configuration is retained as long as the Bot remains in the server. If you remove the Bot, the configuration stays in the database unless you request deletion.
  • Moderation logs are retained so that /modlogs continues to work. We may prune very old logs in the future; until then, they are kept indefinitely.
  • Full message content is never persisted beyond the 500-character truncated copy in the log entry. The full content passed to the AI provider is not stored by us after the evaluation.
  • Website sessions expire after 7 days of inactivity and are deleted.
  • Credits, streak, and vote history tied to your Discord user ID are retained indefinitely so the system continues to work across restarts. You can request deletion at any time (see "Your choices and rights" below).
  • Pro tier redemption records are deleted automatically once the redemption expires and the role has been removed.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Stop collection. Remove the Bot from your server to stop any further data collection for that server. Log out of the Site to end your session.
  • Edit or delete server data. Server admins can clear rules, immune lists, and channels from the dashboard or slash commands. Contact us (below) to request full deletion of a server's configuration and logs.
  • Delete your personal data. You can contact us to request deletion of data tied to your Discord user ID (Pro claims, credits balance and vote history, redemption records, log entries where you are the target, website session data). Some data may need to be retained for security or legal purposes.
  • Opt out of credit-earning. You can run /credits-toggle to stop accruing credits from votes at any time. Your existing balance and any active redemption are unaffected. While opted out, top.gg may still send us vote webhooks for your account, but we will only update your last-vote timestamp (so the cooldown display in /vote stays accurate) and will not credit you.
  • If you are in the EU/UK, you may have additional rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Contact us to exercise them.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) for the Site, access controls on the database, and signed, HTTP-only session cookies. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under the minimum age required by Discord. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such users. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Cookies

The Site uses a single, essential session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
