Bot Terms of Service
These Bot Terms of Service ("Bot Terms") govern your use of the Blify Mod Discord bot ("the Bot"). Use of the companion website is governed by the separate Website Terms of Service. By inviting the Bot to a Discord server, configuring it, or interacting with it as a server member, you agree to these Bot Terms. If you do not agree, do not invite or use the Bot.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required by Discord's Terms of Service in your country, to use the Bot. If you invite the Bot to a Discord server, you must have the authority to agree to these Bot Terms on behalf of that server.
2. What the Bot does
The Bot reads messages in channels it has been configured to moderate, evaluates them against the server's rules using an AI language model, and may take moderation actions — including warnings, deleting messages, timeouts, kicks, and bans — based on those evaluations. Server administrators control which channels are moderated, which rules apply, who is immune, and how strict the Bot behaves.
The AI may make mistakes. Automated moderation is a tool, not a substitute for human judgment. Server administrators are responsible for reviewing logs, reversing actions when appropriate, and ultimately ensuring their community is moderated fairly.
3. Server administrator responsibilities
- Configure the Bot appropriately for your server, including rules, immune roles/users, log channels, and strictness.
- Inform your server members (for example in server rules or a pinned notice) that an AI moderation bot is active and that messages in moderated channels are evaluated by an AI provider.
- Review moderation logs and reverse actions where appropriate.
- Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, the following — you must not:
- Write custom rules, strictness settings, or immune role/user configurations that instruct the Bot to permit, protect, ignore, or otherwise positively promote content prohibited by Discord's Community Guidelines — for example, hate speech, harassment, threats, glorification of violence or self-harm, illegal goods or services, or sexual content involving minors or other illegal NSFW content.
- Use custom rules to encourage, organize, recruit for, or shield illegal activity or movements that violate Discord's Terms of Service or applicable law.
- Invert the Bot's intended purpose — for example, configuring it to punish, mute, or remove members for reporting, opposing, or refusing to participate in content or behavior prohibited by Discord's rules.
- Attempt to work around the Bot's safety behavior through prompt injection, jailbreak-style rules, or instructions that direct the Bot to override Discord's Community Guidelines.
- Do not use the Bot to harass, defame, surveil, or harm members, or to circumvent Discord's rules.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Bot, revoke paid tier benefits, and report violations to Discord Trust & Safety for any configuration or use that violates the above.
4. Member responsibilities
- Follow the rules of any server you are in, including those enforced by the Bot.
- Do not attempt to abuse, jailbreak, prompt-inject, or otherwise manipulate the Bot's AI evaluation.
- Do not attempt to overload or interfere with the Bot.
5. Paid tiers
The Bot offers optional paid tiers ("Pro" and "Premium") that unlock additional features such as more moderated channels, more custom rules, larger manual-scan windows, and an upgraded AI model. Paid tiers are billed monthly via Patreon. Benefits are tied to your individual account; you may activate a tier on a Discord server where you have Manage Server permission, subject to the server-slot limit of your tier (1 for Pro, 3 for Premium).
Payments are processed by Patreon under Patreon's own terms. Refunds are handled according to Patreon's policies. If your paid role is revoked, the associated perks stop applying to your claimed servers.
To keep the Bot sustainable across all tiers, each server has a per-day soft cap on AI moderation throughput. Free-tier caps are intentionally lower than paid tiers; once a server's cap is reached, full AI judgment is paused for that server until UTC midnight and resumes automatically. Pre-filtering, screening, and other non-judgment behavior continue to run during a paused state. Cap thresholds and pause behavior may be adjusted over time to keep the Service reliable and affordable.
6. Free credits and redemption
The Bot offers an optional credits system that lets you earn the Pro tier
without payment. Voting for the Bot on top.gg awards 5 credits per vote
(or 10 credits per vote once you have voted on at least 7 consecutive
days). When you accumulate 500 credits, you may run
/redeem-pro-tier in the official support server to redeem
2 weeks of Pro tier; this deducts 500 credits, resets your daily-vote
streak to zero, and assigns you the Pro role for 14 days, after which
the role is automatically removed.
Credits are tied to your individual Discord account and are not
transferable. You may not gift, sell, trade, or otherwise transfer
credits or redeemed Pro time to another account. Voting from multiple
accounts you control, or otherwise attempting to inflate your credit
balance through automation or manipulation of top.gg, is prohibited and
may result in removal of credits, revocation of any active redemption,
and/or blacklisting from the Bot. You can opt out of earning credits
from votes at any time with /credits-toggle; opting out
does not refund credits you have already earned.
Credit values, the redemption cost, the redemption duration, the streak threshold, and the per-vote reward are not guaranteed and may change at any time. Already-redeemed Pro time is not retroactively shortened by such changes, but unredeemed credit balances may be adjusted.
7. Availability and changes
The Bot is provided on a best-effort basis with no guarantee of uptime, performance, or that any particular feature will remain available. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Bot at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Bot Terms; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate the Bot's access to your server at any time, for any reason, including violations of these Bot Terms or of Discord's rules. You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Bot is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that AI moderation decisions will be accurate, fair, or free of errors.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators of the Bot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Bot, including but not limited to incorrect moderation actions. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Bot is limited to the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $20, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of the Bot from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Bot or your violation of these Bot Terms.
12. Third-party services
The Bot relies on third-party providers including Discord, Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, MongoDB Atlas, Patreon, and top.gg. Your use of those services through the Bot is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the conduct or content of those third parties.
Message content sent to Anthropic and OpenAI for moderation is not used to train AI models. Neither provider trains on data submitted through their commercial APIs by default, we have not opted in to any training program, and all data-sharing options on our OpenAI organization account are explicitly disabled.
13. Governing law
These Bot Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of the United States of America.
